EARLESS AND ABANDONED

WEASEL THE EARLESS TERRIER

My little dog heart practically broke when I read an article in The Daily Mail, about a terrier born without ears who was abandoned at a police station in Wales at just five weeks old.

Luckily for him, he made it to the local “Dog Trust” rehoming center where he was named Weasel. The article, by Lucy Ballinger, quoted, Beverley Price, manager of Bridgend Dogs Trust, as saying “Despite his obvious disability, Weasel is a fantastic dog. He is happy, friendly and really healthy in every other way.

What makes me sad about this article is how some humans are so obbsessed with perfection and the cuteness machine, that they are willing to sacrafice, happy, healthy dogs to it… something has got to change!

Poor little Weasel, left by inhumane humans. That’s why I stand with the animals. They never let you down. Don’t worry Stitch, some kind, caring person will adopt Weasel, and they’ll both have a healthy, happy life together! Viva la pooch!

omg, there was an article in the ny times magazine this past weekend about designer mixed breeds, aka puggles, cockapoos, and labradoodles, and when I first saw this blog entry, i thought weasel was the name for a new designer breed of earless terriers!

i’m happy that it’s not, but that’s sad for weasel. he’s so cute without ears…i’m happy he was rescued.

I am sure with all this publicity Weasel will find a happy home. Thats all a dog really needs. The crazy thing about this article was that they were looking into getting an operation to open the dogs ears up. Is that really necessary? Does a dog really need hear? What if the operation goes wrong? Silly humans.

Poor Weasel. So glad he got a home. And to think, some of us are born so spoilt. Doesn’t seem fair does it?
So glad to have found your blog. Please pop by and say hello on my blog, http://www.oniondog.blogspot.com, if you get chance.
