WHAT IS A THUG?

WIKI SAYS: Thuggee (or tuggee, ठग्गी) (from Hindi thag ‘thief’, from Sanskrit sthaga ‘scoundrel’, from sthagati ‘to conceal’) was an Indian network of secret fraternities engaged in murdering and robbing travelers, operating from the 17th century (possibly as early as 13th century) to the 19th century. This is the origin of the term “thug“, as many Indian words passed into common English during British Imperial rule of India.

Somewhere, somehow, people are finding me and they are diggin’ me. Can anyone tell me, is there something here that I tagged that has recently become popular OR are you all coming just to growl at little old me.

So, I’ve been back east for a while now, trying to figure out just what I want to do with my life… it’s so different here than it is in Arizona, especially because my owner made me move to to Jersey. Yes, we’ve got a back-yard but no fence so I can’t just run out whenever I want to.

To make matters worse there are all type of critters I see out there that I want to chase, chipmunks, wild turkey and deer. In any case, I’m not really feelin the day today so I decide to check out my long-fore-long blog effort and what should I find but, like stats that are out the roof.

BTW- check this out… a new movie by Disney… dogs with attitude “Beverly Hills Chihuahua.” I think one of the freakin’ writers read my blog and THEN had the idea, the bastards, OH WELL, I’ll take a Thuggish French Bulldog over a RACIALLY STEREOTYPICAL RAT DOG any day. What about you.

Tired of the monthly bookclub, I know I am… remember: dogs like to play, run around, fetch and retrieve. Sitting around pontificating on the “Unbearable Lightness of Being,” is fun, sometimes, but what about throwing a Wii party, it could really get your blood pumpin… and your dogs… Just be careful with the Wii-mote, it isn’t a great subsititute for a rubber bone.

LATE BREAKING NEWS
According to a couple of news outlets including CNN, Bill Cosby’s dog, a Dandie Dinmont named Ch Hobergays Fineus Fog or Harry for short, is the leader of the pack a Westminster today.

He took BEST OF BREED but was the only Dandie in the show (the only DANDIE at a dog show, impossible). Let’s see how he does with BEST IN SHOW… there are 2,628 entries at the Westminster Dog Show in Madison Square Garden today.

WEASEL THE EARLESS TERRIER

My little dog heart practically broke when I read an article in The Daily Mail, about a terrier born without ears who was abandoned at a police station in Wales at just five weeks old.

Luckily for him, he made it to the local “Dog Trust” rehoming center where he was named Weasel. The article, by Lucy Ballinger, quoted, Beverley Price, manager of Bridgend Dogs Trust, as saying “Despite his obvious disability, Weasel is a fantastic dog. He is happy, friendly and really healthy in every other way.

What makes me sad about this article is how some humans are so obbsessed with perfection and the cuteness machine, that they are willing to sacrafice, happy, healthy dogs to it… something has got to change!

ALL THE BARK THAT’S FIT TO POST
So, I’ve been away for a while, my best friend was out in Orlando for the PGA Merchandising Conference and I was shipped over to a friend’s house who only has dial-up access… but has a lot of reading material I could paw through, so here’s a few things I picked up over the last couple a days.

DOGGIE IN THE WINDOW
Just about 8 million dogs wind up in shelters every year and of those about 4 million are “euthanized” (i.e. killed). One of the main reasons we end up in this perdicament is due to “behavioral issues” but whose “behavior issues” is what I ask?

So, I hope that you humans who are considering becoming a pooch’s best friend, know that it’s best to do your research before unleashing what may become one of the most rewarding relationships of your life.
